A Chilling Halloween Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why does Heartland FSC need to do a Fundraiser?

Heartland Figure Skate Club’s purpose is to provide testing, club ice, and classes to assist developing skaters and their families.  Like everything else during the pandemic how ice rinks function has changed dramatically.  In order for our skaters to get the ice time they desperately need to practice; we have had to buy ice time and sell it back to the skaters.  However, the cost is greater than what we can afford and we are quickly using up our savings.  This money will ensure that we can purchase the ice we need for freestyle, for classes, and for shows such as this.

  • What can we expect for social distancing?

Heartland FSC is very concerned about keeping you and your family safe.  In order to do this we will be taping off every other row of seats.  We will also be asking for only one family per row to sit in the seats.  This way no one will be too close.  You will still be able to choose where to sit within these guidelines.

  • Will we have to wear masks in the arena?

Unfortunately, due to the October 9th order by Jackson County everyone will need to wear a mask in the arena with the exception of the skater who is performing.  As soon as they are off the ice they will be required to put the mask back on.

  • How will my skater be kept safe?

A Chilling Halloween is an event sanctioned by USFSA, we will follow all the Safesport guidelines.  Additionally, we have implemented multiple ways to socially distance the skaters from one another.  For safety reasons we will not publish those online but will send that information directly to parents.

  • How do we buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased at the door.  The arena has contracts with Ticketmaster therefore we cannot sell tickets in advance.  The cost is $5.00 per ticket children 4 and under are free.  Cash Only!  Doors open at 6:30.

  • What can I expect when I go to buy tickets?

We will have a clearly defined line with waiting spots outside of the arena.  At this time HFSC volunteers will take your contact information including your name and phone number.  Once this has been done and there is an opening in the line, you will go into the building to our “ticket booth” and purchase tickets.  Doors open at 6:30

  • What about concessions?

Unfortunately, the arena is unable to sell concessions at this time.  However, for this one event we will be allowed to sell apple cider in order to keep everyone warm.

  • I have heard rumors of a 50/50 raffle?

Yes!  We are excited to announce that we will be doing a 50/50 raffle so buy some tickets and try to make some money!

  • My child would love to dress up in their halloween costume?

We encourage everyone to get in the halloween spirit and celebrate the costumes of the season with us.  Please feel free to wear your costume.
