Debbie Cole

Debbie grew up skating in St Joe and has passed both her gold figures and gold freestyle tests.  She has competed at every level at regionals except Juvenile.  She has also competed at the National Collegiate Championships in 1992 and 1993.  She holds her PSA Certified Group, Certified Moves in the Field, Certified Free Skate Ratings. Heather Edmonsond

As an adult skater, Heather has passed her Adult Gold Moves in the Field and Freestyle Tests.   Heather has competed in Adult Nationals four times and won the Silver Medal in the Adult Silver Division in 2011.   She has her Bachelor’s and Masters in Physical Education and has 20 years experience teaching middle school girls PE and 12 years experience as head coach of middle school track and volleyball.   Heather is a PSA and US Figure Skating member and is on the board member of the Heartland Figure Skating Club.  Contact: colonypainting@yahoo.com


Carrie Greene

As a competitive skater, Carrie trained and competed with the DuPage Figure Skating Club in suburban Chicago.  She was a regional competitor in both Freestyle and Figures.  Carrie specializes in teaching all levels and ages of both competitive and recreational skaters.   Her students compete at Local and Regional and Adult National Competitons.   Her specialties include Freestyle Jumps, Spins, Footwork, Moves in the Field, Choreography, Power Stroking/ Edge Quality for Figure Skaters and Hockey players.  Carrie has worked as a volunteer for the US Figure Skating Basic Skills program training other coaches how to teach the USFS's Basic Skills. Carrie holds her Certified Moves in the Field, Registered Free Skating, and Registered Group Ratings from the PSA.  She is a Registered Coach through USFS and is PSA CER Category A Compliant Coach.  Carrie is educated in health, fitness, and nutrition in order to help her students achieve their athletic potential both on and off the ice.    Carrie has a BA in Marketing and Management from Southern Illinois University.

Grant Huang

Hometown: St. Louis, MO

Grant is the 2011 Adult National Junior / Senior Masters Champion.   He holds his Registered Free Skating, Registered Moves in the Field, Senior Group, Registered Choreography Ratings from the PSA.  Grant is a double gold medalist in Moves in the Field and Free Skating.  He has also passed his Pre-Silver Dances, Juvenile Pairs, and ISI Freestyle 8 tests.  His specialty areas include spins, footwork, and choreography.  Grant has his Master in Architecture from the Universtiy of Kansas and also studied ballet, modern dance, and hip hop.  Grant is a registered coach with USFS and is a PSA CER Category A Compliant coach.  Contact:  grantchhuang@gmail.com


Nick Kraft


Dixie Knudson

Dixie is a triple gold medalist by passing her Senior Moves in the Field, Senior Free Skate, and Gold Dances.   Dixie has also passed four International Dances and her Novice Free Dance.   Dixie teaches freestyle, ice dance, moves in the field, and choreography.   She was a Regional and US Adult National Competitor.   She has experience in ballet from the Kansas City Ballet.  She is a USFS and PSA member and has passed her basic accreditation exam.  Contact:  dixie@serendipityphotos.us


Michelle Lauerman

Hometown: Overland Park, KS

Michelle is a PSA Master Rated Coach, holding the following PSA Ratings: Senior Free Skating, Senior Moves in the Field, Master Group, and Master Program Director.  Michelle has been a Skating Director since 2007, and has worked at the IEC in this position since the facility opened in 2009.  Michelle helped to found the HFSC and served as Vice-President in its initial years.  As a skater, Michelle has passed her Senior Moves in the Field, Junior Freestyle, and Bronze Dances and competed at the Southwestern Regionals and Collegiate Nationals.  As a coach, Michelle has taken skaters through their Senior Moves in the Field and Novice Freestyle tests and has taken skaters through the qualifying levels at the Southwestern Regional Championships.   Specialty disciplines include: Free Skating and Moves in the Field.  She is currently serving her sixth year on the US Figure Skating Basic Skills Sub Committee and is also a Ratings Examiner for the PSA.  Michelle has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.  Michelle is a USFS Registered Coach and a PSA CER Category A Compliant Coach.  Contact:  


Jennifer McPike

Hometown: Platte City, MO

Jennifer McPike is a USFS Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field, Juvenile Freestyle and a Silver/Pre-Gold Medalist in Ice Dance. As a skater, she competed in Synchronized Skating for several years as a member of the Crystallettes, Team Elan, Team De Couer, and Rising Stars teams. Jennifer finished her career by making Team USA, the senior level Crystallettes synchronized skating team. In 2007, Jennifer won the pewter medal at the USFS National Synchronized Skating Championships, as a member of the Crystallettes, in the Novice division. She has also competed in several Mid-Western Synchronized Skating Sectionals bringing home many gold medals throughout her career. She is a current member of PSA, CER Category B Compliant, and is a USFS Registered Coach. Jennifer’s disciplines include: Moves in the Field, Power/Stroking, Synchronized Skating, Ice Dance, and Freestyle. Jordan  McPike

Hometown: Platte City, MO

Jordan McPike is a US Figure Skating Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field, Juvenile Free Skate, and a Pre-Silver medalist in Ice Dancing. She has competed in synchronized skating for years as a member of Crystallettes, Team Elan, and Rising Stars teams.

In 2006, Jordan won the national silver medal at US Figure Skating National Championships for the Juvenile division as a member of Team Elan and in 2007, brought home the national pewter medal in the Novice division as a member of the Crystallettes. She is also head coach of Team Amore's Beginner 1 and Tot-Introductory teams.

Jessika Richards

Hometown: Platte City, MO

As a skater, Jessika passed her Senior Moves in the Field, Silver Ice Dances, 2 Pre-Gold Dances, and Juvenile Free Skate Tests. Jessika was a Bronze Medalist in the Senior division at the 2007 U.S. Synchronized Skating Nationals as well as a Bronze medalist on the international circuit at the 2007 Prague Cup as a member of Team USA Synchronized Skating. She spent many years competing all over the country in non qualifying, Sectional, and National competitions as a member of Rising Stars, Team Elan' and Crystallettes synchronized skating teams. She specializes in coaching Moves in the Field, Synchronized Skating, Free Skate and Learn to Skate. She is currently the Synchronized Skating Director for Team Amore' and a board member of Heartland FSC.  Jessika is a USFS Registered Coach and a PSA CER Category B Compliant Coach. She is currently studying at the UMKC School of Pharmacy in pursuit of a Pharm. Jennifer Schultz

As a competitive skater, Jennifer skated and trained in Tulsa, OK.  She has taught all levels of learn to skate and is available for both competitive and recreational private lessons. She has past experience with directing ice shows, teaching dance and injury prevention to skaters. Jessica Zhang

Jessica is a triple gold medalist, having passed her Senior Freestyle, Senior Moves in the Field, and Senior Dance tests.   She is a Senior level competitor in freestyle and ice dance.    She is currently studying Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Physics at UMKC.    Jessica is a member of US Figure Skating and the PSA.  Contact:

Katie Beeman

Hometown:  Lees Summit, MO

A High School Sophomore, Katie has skated competitively for 3 years. She is a member of the Heartland Figure Skating Club and skated as a member of Team Amore' for 2 years.  Katie has passed her Pre-Preliminary Moves in the Field Test.  Katie would like to go to school to become a Pediatric Surgeon. 


Taylor Beeman

Hometown:  Lees Summit, MO

Taylor has skated competitively for 3 years and is a junior in High School.   She is a member of Heartland Figure Skating Club and skated as a member of Team Amore' for 2 years.   Taylor has passed her Pre-Preliminary Moves in the Field Test.   After high school Taylor plans to go to college, but she is currently undecided on what degree she would like to pursue. 


Rose Genaris

A junior in high school, Rose has been skating for 5 years and has passed her Pre-Preliminary Free-Skate, Intermediate Moves in the Field, and is currently a Bronze level ice dancer. She is a member of Team Amore's Open Juvenile Synchronized Skating Team with whom she will compete nationally as well as in her fourth Mid-Western Synchronized Skating Sectional Championship. In addition to competing, Rose also coaches intro-level teams for Team Amore.


Ali Mermelstein

Ali is a sophomore in High School and has been skating for five years. She has passed her Preliminary Moves in the Field and is also working towards testing in ice dancing.   She has been a synchronized skater on Team Amoré for four years and is currently skating on the Open Juvenile team. This is her second year of being team captain. She has been a member of Heartland Figure Skating Club for four years as well.
